I am going to keep the title of the post because it seems fitting and I hope to someday be a little well-known. I know, big dreamer. A little well known.
I suppose I should introduce myself. Hello, my name is Ashley B. Harzog and I write plays. I have written about ten plays, three of which are decent. I recently produced my original comedy, Looking for Laurie in All the Wrong Places, at the Red Clay Theater and Arts Center in Duluth, GA. It was an exhilarating and self-assuring experience. I learned that I don’t know anyone to hold my hand. Having just graduated from high school in May, I had no idea just how self-sufficient I could be. I’ve also written two darker plays, On Edge and The Elephant in the Living Room, which have been selected for Thespian PlayWorks and the New South Young Playwrights Festival (On Edge), and as a semi-finalist in the Blank Theater Company’s Young Playwrights Festival and a finalist in the Young Playwrights Inc. National Playwriting Competition (The Elephant in the Living Room).
Wow. When I write it all down, I realize that I’ve done a lot for an eighteen year old. Hopefully, this is just the beginning.
